Peer Review

Coming into my peer review I was excited. Even though I did not have a finished product lacking an intro and an ending, I was happy to hear what I needed to do  and how I could make my film better.  As I showed my film my peers and my teacher enjoyed the opening which consist  of my  main characters on the run with music in the background. Although they enjoyed it the  shadow of the  hood of the  trunk,  I was recording out of was clearly  visible,  so they  suggested  I cast that out. My film was short of time so my peers felt as if I could add another scene.  I thought adding credits  and typography would be enough, but my peers thought otherwise. Another comment my classmates brought up was  in another running scene my dog "Mochi's" eyes could be seen running after the characters I knew myself I needed to dim them or flush them out  some way ,  but my  teacher and classmates rem...

Puzzled with where or what should I start next, I went off the storyboard for the  plan. In my storyboard the next scene to shoot was the act where a thief tries to come steal the money from  the main characters. The  storyboard description was to arm the rubber with an airsoft  gun,  but I didn’t want to put a toy or  any type of firearm  look-alikes in the  film,  so I changed him while filming to run tow ard the characters and act like he’s about to  “mug” them for the money.    I tried to show a little action while filming so I had one of the characters get into a little  tussle  with  the thief. Shooting this scene was the fastest and simplest part  cooperation was essential while doing this shot due to the timing of  the movements  and angles from the fight scene. We tried our best with the shot and angles w hile filming.

The following scene after the running scene was dialogue which took multiple attempts trying to complete. My dialogue on the transcript was brief so  I made my actors “wing” as in free choice of words based on their preference or their feeling toward the scene. At  first,   they wanted to keep it short with what I wrote on the paper such as “We have to stop their coming” yet I made a new phrase that can represent car efulness of the brother such as  stating,  “We can’t keep running like this it’s not good for us”.  Shots during this scene were close shots so viewers could see the expressions on the actors  their face mostly fills up the screen. My actors were nervous about how close the camera  was to them, but I told them this was necessary for the scene and they cooperated. Many lines were messed up and reshot  and over the course of time we finished the scene.

When working many scenes had to be shot repeatedly, we spent  nearly  4 hours trying  to get the opening running scene correct with a full shot by driving in  front of them. We used my car to film the running shot I went in the trunk of the car to film the  scene  I op ened the trunk made sure I can see their body while running and told them go. I made my friend drive slowly so where I wouldn’t  fall out the trunk but to a speed where we could match the pace of the runners. As I said we shot this many times problems that  occurred were driver driving too fast which made the shot get too much open scenery and decre ased  attention  on characters.  Another  conflic t  we encountered was trying to angle to car to a motion good so I could film the scene. We drove up and down the street multiple times  in order to get this shot right.

Developing the plot of this film is difficult ,  days away of scheduled fi lm  time . My shots were determined  based on certain parts on scenes that I wanted to make more dramatic such as the two main characters were  running,  I wan ted a full shot  so Viewers can see the character themselves but as they continued  talking,  I wanted the  close shots so their facial expressions can be mood of the  scene .  The clothing for the movie was simple characters could wear their everyday clothing  since the people in the storyboard were not dressed to a specific style. A backpack was needed to represent the money  the characters possessed. With choosing the backpack we picked a bag that stood out and could be easily spotted which means s omeone can see the bag has something nice in it. When choosing  characters,  I picked people close to me I  could trust to work hard and stay focused .    ...
